  1. Steve Lukather Bonus Interview Outtakes From His August 2013 GP Feature

    - By Arend, Jul 16, 2013 8:32 AM

Steve Lukather, no surprise, loves to talk guitar. This interview, conducted at the
guitarist’s Los Angeles home in May of 2013, went over three-and-a-half hours in
duration. And Luke, as he is known to his fans and friends, talks a lot—and fast—
so it all translates into a lot of text. What follows is some of the extra Q&A not
included in the print version of this interview. And some of the questions herein
were asked by you, GP readers, via Facebook, the day of the interview. (Lukather
begins fielding these questions at about the halfway mark of this transcript.)

  7. Transitioning Back to Life: An Interview with Steve Lukather

    - By Arend, Feb 5, 2013 12:00 AM

In the interview below Steve discusses his darkest days that included divorce, death of a loved one, a dying friend and Internet bullying. He talks openly about what happened four years ago that made him take stock of his life and change. These changes are reflected in the music on Transition. Gone are the guitar heroics, replaced by subtleties, melodies and musical nuances. The result is an album of songs written by Steve that both share his innate tastefully, heartfelt playing along with nods to his influences, which he proudly wears on his sleeve.

  8. Reggie Boyle talking with Lee Sklar!

    - By Arend, Dec 28, 2012 12:00 AM

Lee Sklar is probably the most prolific bass player of our time. He has played on well over 2,000 albums. The instantly recognizable session cat and live player is most famous for his four decade plus stint with James Taylor and long run with Phil Collins. He did a Tour and DVD with Toto and has been a life long friend of Steve Lukather. If you have ever listened to the radio, watched TV or seen a movie you have most certainly been touched by Lee or "Sklar" as his friends and band mates call him. He was gracious enough to spend some time talking to me about his amazing career and relationship with Luke.

  9. Reggie talking with Renee Jones and Weingart

    - By Arend, Nov 28, 2012 12:00 AM

Steve Weingart and Renee Jones are a musical duo, a married duo and one half of Steve Lukather's band. I sat down up close with a chance to talk to both of them their new album "Obeservatory", music and muisicians.

  10. Reggie Boyle talking with Don Felder

    - By Arend, Oct 28, 2012 12:00 AM

Don Felder was a huge part of The Eagles amazing success story. He recently released his first solo album in three decades. He has been running wild doing interviews, live shows and appearances promoting his fantastic release "Road to Forever". In Los Angeles I saw him at the Grammy Museum in a question and answer session hosted by Scott Goldman and short live Felder only performance. I also saw him up close with a full band at the Troubadour, also in Los Angeles. Both performances were great. Since Steve Lukather and Toto cats David Paich and Steve Porcaro played on the new release I figured it would be a good reason to interview Don. Don was able to squeeze me into his tight schedule as he just finished an interview, then did his interview with me with me and was doing the Nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" later that night.

  12. Toto Jack FM 7th B-day Bash by Reggie Boyle

    - By Arend, Sep 15, 2012 12:00 AM
As soon as I pulled into the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, Ca. for the Jack FM 7th Birthday Party Show I knew it was going to be a great day. It was scorching hot as soon as I got out of my car. But the first sound I heard was the Toto song "99" emanating from the speakers of a "party tent' directly adjacent to me. Next up was "Africa" so those Toto fans were gearing up for the days festivities. The lineup for this years show was Dale Bozzio's Missing Persons, Gin Blossoms, MC Hammer, Toto, Pat Benatar/Neil Giraldo and Joe Walsh.

It was a triumphant return for Toto in America at a show fairly close to home. Other than a one off show in Denver earlier in the year this was the first show in the States in years. It was a sold out Chumash Casino Show in Santa Ynez, California.

    - By Arend, Jul 21, 2012 12:00 AM
Todd Rundgren was extremely prophetic when he told me in Nashville two weeks ago that this Greek Theatre, Los Angeles Ringo All-Starr Tour ending show would be bittersweet.
